      Volvo rolls-out new S60 in India at starting price of Rs 27-lakh

      Volvo Auto India, a subsidiary of Swedish luxury car maker Volvo, launched its luxury sedan – S60 – in the Indian market on Thursday. The new Volvo S60 will be available in three variants. While the base variant has been priced at Rs 27-lakh, the top end variant carries a price tag of Rs 34-lakh (both are ex-showroom Delhi prices). The new sedan is available in both petrol and diesel variants in the country. The car will be fighting for space with the likes of Audi A4 and Mercedes Benz C-Class.

      Speaking to the reporters at the launching ceremony, Volvo Auto India's Managing Director, Paul de Voijs said, "We are very happy to launch our latest premium sedan in the Indian market. We will continue to launch new car models here in the coming days.” He added, “The S60 sedan will be available in our seven outlets in the country from this month onwards.”

      At present, Volvo has three car models in its India portfolio that comprises of S80 sedan, XC90 and the popular XC60. While further informing the reporters on the sales figures of other cars of the company in the Indian market, Mr. Voijs said, "Our XC60 is more in demand in the Indian market. This model now has at least a 3-4-months waiting period. We plan to ramp-up capacity to meet the demand."
