The regular V90 is basically an estate version of the superb S90 luxury sedan, while the V90 Cross Country is a more rugged AWD version of this estate car. The latter will be introduced to appeal to taste of Indian buyers. This beefed up vehicle gets an external body cladding, skid plates, roof rails and comes equipped with 20-inch alloy wheels. The ground clearance has been increased by 65mm than the standard car, and it also features a Borg-Warner AWD system.

The Volvo V90 Cross Country will be powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine option used by the XC90 and the S90 as well. This powerplant produces 222bhp of power and 470Nm of torque in the V90 Cross Country and comes mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

Volvo is globally known for their capable estate cars and the V90 Cross Country is also one such offering. Since the Swedish car manufacturer will bring this vehicle to our country through the CBU route, we can expect it to command a premium price tag.
