      Volkswagens XL1 concept delivers unbelievable fuel economy of 111 km per liter!

      The European auto giant Volkswagen has been aggressively working on developing more fuel efficient cars with lesser Co2 emission. The company has recently showcased its massively fuel efficient Volkswagen XL1 concept at the Delhi Auto Expo 2012, a future car that is claimed to be delivering an unbelievable fuel economy of 111 km per liter.

      The Volkswagen XL1 concept is basically a plug in hybrid concept model that is blessed with highly fuel efficient technologies like DSG Automatic Transmission and TDI technology. From displacement of mere 0.8 liter, the car’s engine generates a peak power of 48 PS. If launched, the Volkswagen XL1 concept will be the most fuel efficient car in the world, leaving far behind all other popular electric and plug-in hybrid cars.

      The dimensions of the car are as follows; length - 3,888 mm; width - 1,665 mm; height - 1,156 mm. Wheel base of this concept is 2,224 m, while the kerb weight is 795 kg. The car takes just 11.9 seconds to break the speed barrier of 100 km per hour, and has an electronically controlled top speed of 160 km per hour. The emission level of the car is at a very low level to just 24g/km
