Following the launch of Polo facelift, Volkswagen India will be launching updated Vento sedan in domestic market around festive season. Revisions will be kept minor on new Vento; mild changes could be seen on exterior and interior front. Mechanical changes have also been made on the diesel Vento. Tweaks have been made to the front profile of the sedan including a restyled bumper and modified front grille that gels well with the sweptback head lamps. Other than these, the sedan will receive chrome treatment over the grille bottom of the fog lamps. LED lights could be offered as a standard option on high end model of Vento. Rear will also get revivification in the form of redesigned bumper and tail lamp assembly.

A number of changes will also be made inside the cabin such as a new centre console, electro-mechanical steering-wheel, new graphics on instrument panel and a new infotainment system. However certain features like fabric, switch gears, storage spaces and few other features will be retained from the outgoing model. One of the major changes made to the sedan is the inclusion of a new engine in diesel line-up. Vento diesel will come housed with the new 1.5 litre, four cylinder, powertrain that also powers new Polo diesel. The new 1.5 litre diesel motor churns out a top power output of 109 PS along with a peak torque of 250 Nm. Petrol range of new Vento will continue to be powered with the same 1.6 litre engine that develops a maximum power and torque output of 103 bhp and 153 Nm. And the GT TSI trim will retain 1.2 litre turbocharged engine. A five-speed manual transmission will be mated to the diesel engine, a DSG tranny could also be out on offer. Petrol trims will get the regular five-speed manual gearbox while the 1.2 litre TSI variant will get a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox.Volkswagen is also working on new generation Polo and Vento that is likely to go on sale by 2015-2016.
