Volkswagen India made an official statement that its new sedan model Volkswagen Vento will be available for the Indian customers by autumn this year. The car will be built at its Chakan plant where it currently manufactures its small car model VW Polo.
“The new Vento is a major milestone for the Volkswagen Brand in India. We have taken into consideration all the preferences and requirements of our customers in India for this vehicle. It will meet the premium demands of our future customers,” said Neeraj Garg, Member of Board and Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd.
The new VW Vento will boast of several new features like better suspensions for Indian driving conditions, larger space inside including more leg room and convenient rear seats, enhanced air-conditioning system to weather Indian heat, stronger horn as well as ABS and air-bags. The model will be available in 1.6L petrol and diesel variants with manual as well as automatic transmission. The final price and technical specifications of the model along with its design will be revealed at the time of the launch in India.
