The category of sedans has witnessed a major rise in the number of models every year. Most automobile manufacturing companies make sure that they launch a couple of sedan models every year. On one hand, this has given car lovers in India more options when it comes to choosing a car; however, on the other, they have become spoilt for choice as which to opt for. Skoda has launched a newer version to their popular model Rapid, which comes with better features and a smarter appearance. It has been pitted against the Volkswagen Vento, which has a similar pricing as well as comparable features.
When it comes to power output the Rapid is capable of churning out a maximum of 103.6 bhp at the rate of 4400 rpm. The net torque produced is 250 Nm at around 1500 to 2500 rpm. The Volkswagen Vento is capable of generating the exactly same power output with a similar torque value. However, that does not come as a surprise as both the cars utilise a 1498 cc turbocharged engine.
The Vento is capable of turning out a mileage of 17.25 kilometres per litre under ideal conditions on a busy city street. However, it hikes up 21.21 kilometres a litre when the car hits freeways. Rapid, on the other hand, produces a mileage of 18.3 kilometres per litre on urban roads, while on highways, the car hits approximately 21.66 kilometres. Thus, the Rapid is marginally ahead in this aspect than the Volkswagen model. The pricing of both the cars is similar; both the cars are priced between 7.2 lakhs INR to 11 lakhs INR, depending on the variant of choice.
