      Volkswagen to stop using 'Das Auto' tagline from January, 2016

      ‘Das Auto’ (meaning The Car) has been associated with the German Volkswagen brand since 2007. The slogan helped the brand establish its identity as the car company across the global market. This time around sources have revealed that the company has been making an attempt to change its image and be perceived as more than just a people’s car company.

      The company is reportedly working on a new tagline that would highlight its change across the global markets. The company would introduce the change in a phased manner and the first ones to get it would be the Indian market. In recent times, the company has also been entangled in legal issues as it was caught cheating in emission cycle tests.

      Owing to recent issues, the company has already replaced its top management officials. With the new tagline, the company projects its efforts toshowcase itself as a maker of variety of cars across segments.
