      Volkswagen to launch three new cars this year

      Volkswagen, the German car maker, is aiming to launch at least three new cars this year. The company is planning to enter the growing compact sedan segment this year. VW is contemplating a compact sedan based on the Polo platform, which is likely to go on sale in the country by the end of this year. VW India is aiming to fill the void between the Polo and Vento sedan with this compact sedan. The new compact sedan is expected to offer spacious cabin, which is available on the hatchback.

      At the 2014 New York Motor Show, VW unveiled the new 2014 Jetta facelift. The company has already imported both petrol and diesel fuel options for homologation and R&D purpose. This model gets slightly tweaked exterior and interiors. It features triple slat grille with chrome inserts, new bumper with wide air intakes, bi-xenon headlamps, adaptive front lighting system, new tail lamp assembly and restyled boot lid. Talking about feature addition, the Jetta facelift has blind spot detection, front collision warning, parking assist, rear cross traffic alert, etc. Inside, the sedan gets new instrument panel, steering wheel and new upholstery.

      The third model to come India will be the new generation VW B8 Passat, which was unveiled in early 2014. The new Passat is slightly smaller in size compared to previous model; however, the company claimed it to offer spacious cabin. It is loaded with high end features and has sharper design. Adding to it, VW India is also planning to introduce Beetle and Polo hatchback.
