First things first, VW has already started working on a new platform MEB built to be the base for the future electric cars. The first wave of cars will be built on the MEB platform and are expected to arrive in 2020 with two MEB-based electric cars. The second wave is expected to kick off before 2025 with more models developed on the MEB platform including hatchbacks, crossovers and SUVs.

Volkswagen will emphasise on cost leadership in electric mobility. They will be positioned aggressive to lure the aspiring middle class and might not be priced at a premium as they are now. Approachability and affordability will be the key mantras for Volkswagen to achieve their goal of being the first manufacturer with a million vehicles.
