There is rife news that Volkswagen Tiguan will be showcased at the upcoming Auto Expo 2014. The auto company, so far, has been quite aggressive with its Polo and Vento models and now is making plans to claim share in the growing utility vehicle segment. According to the recent developments in Indian market, it is the utility vehicle segment that is getting lot of attention from price sensitive Indian buyers and as a result, one can surely see different auto companies making efforts to focus over it.
Joining the bandwagon, Volkswagen is chipping in its Tiguan model. This model is likely to be unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo. The car is expected to come with a 2.0-litre diesel engine. According to rumours, the German auto company may introduce a 1.2-litre TSI engine in its upcoming utility vehicle as it will help to bring down its cost. Furthermore, there are even chances that Volkswagen might bring in either a 1.6-litre or 1.5-litre diesel mill, on which it has been working from a long time.
Experts believe that 2014 is going to be crucial year for the auto company as besides Tiguan, it plans to introduce the facelift version of Passat. Customers can also see a new 1.5-litre diesel engine making its way into Polo and Vento.
