
Volkswagen India has launched the Tayron R-Line in India at an introductory price of Rs. 46.99 lakh, ex-showroom. Positioned as the brand’s new flagship SUV, the Tayron R-Line combines performance, luxury, and advanced technology in a three-row format.

The Tayron R-Line is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine that produces 201bhp and 320Nm of torque. It is paired with a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission and Volkswagen’s 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system. The SUV also gets multiple drive modes to suit different driving conditions.

In terms of design, the Tayron R-Line features distinctive R-Line styling elements, including sportier bumpers, illuminated front and rear Volkswagen logos, and 19-inch Coventry alloy wheels. It also gets HD Matrix LED headlamps and a strong SUV stance. The model is offered in seven exterior colours, including Dolphin Grey Metallic, Cipressino Green Metallic, Nightshade Blue Metallic, and Oryx White Mother-of-Pearl Effect.
Inside, the SUV gets a large touchscreen infotainment system measuring 15 inches and a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster. The front seats offer 12-way electric adjustment, heating, ventilation, and massage functions, while the second row gets sliding and reclining functionality. Other highlights include a panoramic sunroof, three-zone climate control, ambient lighting with 30 colour options, and an 11-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.

On the safety front, the Tayron R-Line comes equipped with nine airbags and Level 2 ADAS with 14 features. It also gets hill ascent and descent control, electronic stability control, and an augmented reality head-up display.
Measuring 4,792 mm in length with a wheelbase of 2,789 mm, the Tayron R-Line offers generous cabin space and road presence.
