      The Taigun SUV from German car-maker Volkswagen carries the subtle curves with the a matured stance, much like its sedan and hatchback counterparts in the country. The SUV has been one of the most anticipated vehicles in the country. In recent times popular cars like Renault Duster, Ford Ecosport and Nissan Terrano have managed to capture a fair chunk of market share in the compact SUV segment. Post launch, the Taigun SUV is expected to work wonders for Volkswagen in this popular segment.

      The company had showcased Taigun SUV at the 2014 Auto Expo show held in February this year. VW’s upcoming sub-four meter SUV will possess compact dimensions- 3,858 mm long 1,727 mm wide, 1,570 mm tall and 2,469 mm wheelbase. The car features a bigger and bolder stance. The exteriors are vibrant with rugged side panels, under-body protection and roof rails. The Brazil showcased version featured LED lights on roof rails and 17-inch alloys, though the street version may vary. The infotainment system inside the car is stated to be compatible with variety of smartphones. The smart aircons feature a temperature display inside the nozzle and can be adjusted for blower and air speed.

      The Volkswagen Taigun is expected to be powered by 1.0-litre 3-cylinder TSI petrol engine. The engine generates a good 110PS of power and 175Nm of torque. The diesel version may feature a 1.4litre, 3 cylinder engine. The Taigun features turbo charged direct injection technology to deliver an impressive fuel efficiency of 21 kmpl in Petrol, whereas the Diesel version is more fuel efficient. Moreover, the car claims to reach a top speed of 185 kmph in just under 9.2 seconds. This is a special feat even when the SUV weighs around 985 kgs! It is anticipated that the car will be 3.86 metre long and 1.43 metre wide in dimensions. Official specifications for the car are yet to be received and shall only be declared when the car is launched.
