German automaker Volkswagen has released teaser images of the T-Cross concept ahead of 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Reportedly based on the Polo platform the vehicle is expected to be introduced as an entry-level model in the company’s line up. Placed on MQB platform, the vehicle shall be offered with wide range of powertrains that include diesel, petrol, plug-in petrol-electric hybrid trims with four wheel and front wheel drive options.
As revealed by a manager from the company to sources, “We will position production versions of the T-Cross and T-Roc underneath the Tiguan and Touareg in a part of the market that is currently experiencing large growth for SUV models, including Europe.” Based on what can be seen in images, the upcoming vehicle would feature large square-shaped LED daytime running lamps that complement the fog lamps, skid plate on front bumper and body cladding. In-depth details on the engine specs and features could not be immediately known for now and shall be known in the coming days.
