Despite starting off in a bright note, German automobile giant, Volkswagen could not make the most of it when it came to the numbers. The product list for the manufacturer is in urgent need of an update as most of its models are ageing fast. The competition has been taken to the next level by the string of its rivals. Most of it has been done by bringing updates and new cars in the market. Volkswagen has planned to reconsider its position in India and looks forward to make it better in the near future. Production will be improved along with localisation of components for Volkswagen. Apart from this, the sales and services and branding will also be enhanced along with a new portfolio of products.
As a part of the new strategy, Volkswagen is supposed to launch approximately a dozen products in the next three to four years in India. The first amongst the new models will be a sub-four metre sedan, which has been codenamed Polo Stuffle. This car is expected to be launched somewhere during 2015. The car will be underpinned to the Polo platform; however, not much is known about the detailed specifications.
The German manufacturer is also looking forward to export the compact sedan and will reach out to the new SUV, as well. Going forward, the new strategy, if successful will be employed in the upcoming models, as well. If all is good, Volkswagen might just be able to grab that position, which it has been looking for quite some time.
