The German automaker will be introducing the Polo GTI, its performance hatchback in the Indian car market this year. It will be unveiled at the Auto Expo on the 4th of February, 2016. Volkswagen is expected toadda heavydose of excitement to its vastline-up of carlinesat the Delhi Motor Show, by announcing the unveiling of the Polo GTI for its Indian consumers.
TheThink Newphilosophy, this would be a three-door hatchback and a first of its kind in the Indian market. At the moment, the hottest hatchback is the Abarth Punto with a 1.4-litre T-JET engine that churns 145bhp of power. The Volkswagen Polo GTI will come with a 1.8-litre TSI engine that will churn between 165-190bhp and it will come mated to a seven-speed DSG option. Volkswagen claims that the Polo GTI has been designed to suit the requirements of automotive enthusiasts. This will be the fastest hatchback in India under Rs 20 lakhs. This will open up the Indian car market for more such hot hatchbacks. This is just the tip of the iceberg there should be more coming in.
