The Polo GTI from Volkswagen has caught the fancy of many across the globe. Often sources have managed to spot the 5-door variant on test, this time around fresh reports have indicated on a possibility of a 3-door variant being launched in the country sometime in September. It I believed that a 5-door Polo GTI variant could be launched sometime later post introduction of 3-door variant.
Under the hood, the Polo GTI would be offered with a 1.8-litre TSI petrol engine mated to either 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed DSG that generates a powerful 189bhp. The pricing aspect and details on feature aspect is currently unavailable, it is anticipated that the vehicle may carry a price tag of about Rs 20 lakh. Sources have indicated that the company may start accepting bookings for the vehicle post its official unveiling at the 2016 Auto Expo Event.
