The India-bound Volkswagen Polo based-SUV has been spotted on test in Europe. Running under the shell of a current generation three-door Golf, we can see in the photos, the raised ground clearance, longer suspension travel and obviously bigger wheels. Much of the design is expected to come from the T-Cross concept car showcased in 2015.

Not much else is known about this car apart from the fact that it will be offered with a range of petrol and diesel engines. It will pick up most of its features and underpinnings from the older Polo platform to keep costs in check.

This vehicle will be a part of the German automaker’s overall plans to have an SUV body style vehicle in every part of the market that it has a presence in. It had announced this plan during the Auto China 2016 for the local market but we suspect that with the growing popularity of such vehicles, this is likely to become a global plan. This car is expected to be at least another year away and is unlikely to make its debut before the next generation Polo hatchback is unveiled.
