Volkswagen’s latest offerings, the Tiguan and the new Passat were both spotted doing test rounds on the Mumbai- Pune Expressway, much ahead of their launch. It was only last month that the German automaker had announced that it would be bringing in  both automobiles to the Indian market. These are new generation vehicles from Wolfsburg automaker’s stables and will be offered with both petrol and diesel engine options.

      VW Tiguan new for India

      Tiguan
With the Tiguan, the German automaker is all set to mark it the entry into  a new segment. This is a D+segment SUV and will be offered as a five-seater vehicle. Unveiled at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show as the Tiguan All-Space, it will be known just as the Tiguan in India and is expected to debut ahead of the festive season here. We believe that VW will offer the SUV with the 2.0-litre petrol and 2.0-litre diesel. Expect both variants to be offered only with a seven-speed DSG.

      VW Passat new for India

      New Passat
This is a new D+segment sedan and will revive the Passat name which was last seen in India in 2014 . This new vehicle sports the latest VW design, thus transforming the vehicle from a rounded shape to sharper lines and more defined edges. The Passat is expected to debut the locally built 2.0-litre TDI engine as well as the same 2.0-litre TSI unit that will power the Tiguan.
We believe that VW will price this car in range of Rs 32 lakh to Rs 40 lakh pitting it against cars like the Mercedes-Benz CLA, Audi A3, Mercedes-Benz GLA, BMW X1, BMW 1 Series and the upcoming Audi Q2.
