Volkswagen has launched a special styling kit for the Beetle, wanting to make the most of the festive season. Prices of the package have not been revealed yet, but this cosmetic update can be had by new buyers and existing customers as well.
Mechanically the Beetle remains the same. What is different, you ask. For starters, Volkswagen has added twin racing stripes running from the hood to the boot-lid. Then the so called 'Heritage Beetle side stripe' can be seen on the sides of the car. Additionally, the carmaker is offering 17-inch alloys finished in gun-metal instead of the standard 16-inch wheels.
There are no changes inside the cabin and the Beetle also continues to be powered by the same in-line four-cylinder 1,395cc petrol TSI mill. It churns out 148bhp of power and 250Nm of torque and comes mated to seven-speed automatic DSG gearbox.
The Beetle in its latest avatar was launched in India in December 2015 and eventually its sales have started to slow down. Now the new styling kit carries forward the sportiness quotient associated with the brand and we hope it will help boost the sales of the car.
