Volkswagen India has started exporting the Polo hatchback to Mexico. The premium hatchback is now the second car from the company’s manufacturing unit in Pune to be exported to the Mexican city. VW launched the updated Polo in Mexican market in November, and the VW India’s facility is already exporting the limited hatchbacks to meet the demand.

The first product to be exported to Mexico from Volkswagen India was the Vento sedan. The company exported the 1.6 Highline variant of the Polo to the Mexican market. This shows that VW India is focusing on exports to gain profits in India. The company has also ramped up the production to fulfill the demand for hatchback.

Adding to it, VW India is also exporting car components to Malaysia.

Mr. Mahesh Kodumudi, Chief Representation Volkswagen Group India said, “It is a matter of immense pride for us that we are able to export and sell both our Volkswagen models that we are producing at Pune Plant to an important market like Mexico. We will continue to deliver the international standards of quality from our Indian operations to the world.”
