Industry experts are of a view that the ride height of Volkswagen's upcoming crossover will be slightly increased, in order to give it a tough vehicle look. Also, a thick plastic band will be fitted at its front bumper, which is said to extend till its flank and rear portion. Reportedly, the wheel arches of Cross Polo will be provided with the same treatment. The side profile of this upcoming crossover will also feature distinctive looks with the incorporation of 16-inch alloy wheels, similar to what has been fitted within the Volkswagen Jetta. It must be noted that while the increased ground clearance and new body kit will give the upcoming Cross Polo a muscular look, Volkswagen is expected to incorporate a significant amount of weight to the car, which might affect its performance.

Coming to technical specifications of the Cross Polo, it will come equipped with a 1.2-litre three-cylinder diesel engine, which has been sourced from the standard variant of Polo. The maximum power produced by the engine of this model will stand at 75 bhp with a peak torque of 180 Nm. A five-speed manual transmission will be assimilated within the yet to be launched Volkswagen Cross Polo, which will transmit the powers to its front wheels. The upcoming crossover is anticipated to be priced higher by around Rs. 75000 than the current generation model of Polo, which is expected to attract the price sensitive Indian buyers.
