Volkswagen is planning to build a family of executive cars under the Arteon brand. The company is working on the Arteon Shooting Brake that could be sold alongside the Arteon.
This developed was confirmed by one of the top honchos of the company. The Shooting Brake hasn’t been confirmed for production but it is likely to hit the assembly line when the time is right. The Arteon has been developed to take on the likes of Audi A5 Sportback. This German vehicle is expected to go on sale in UK later this year and fill in the executive car void that was created when the Phaeton was discontinued two years ago.
At the time of the launch, the Arteon will be available with two engine options – 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol that produces 276bhp and a 237bhp 2.0-litre turbodiesel engines. These motors will be mated to the seven-speed DSG gearbox and will also get the four-wheel drive options.
