If reports are to be believed, the design part of the car has already been finalized and the vehicle will soon put on test. The development of the new sedan would take less time compared to the time required on the making of an all-new car. This car will be especially developed for the Indian market, indicating the company's new strategy to improve sales in the Indian market.

The new compact sedan will be made available in both petrol and diesel fuel options. The diesel version of the car would be powered by a new 1.5-litre diesel engine that also powers the new Polo and Vento. This engine is capable of developing 90PS of power and 230Nm of torque. Its gasoline version is likely to get a 1.2-litre motor, but with higher states of tune. Both manual and automatic version of the car could make their way to the Indian market.
