Ford has taken the wraps off its US spec facelifted Mustang which gets some exterior updates, increased power with some mechanical additions and a few cabin upgrades.
The front end of the facelifted Mustang is now characterised by a lower bonnet, sleeker headlamps with new indicators, andan angular front bumper with restyled air dams. Furthermore, there are new C-shaped tail lamps, a redesigned rearspoiler atop the boot, along with a diffuser that sits fairly low.Powering the new Mustang is the same 5.0-litre V8 motor that now makes 454bhp and 569Nm of torque.
Likewise, ouput from the 2.3-litre four-cylinder EcoBoost variant has been bumped up to 306bhp. While both models get a reworked version of the six-speed manual gearbox, the V8 also benefits from a dual-plate clutch. Plus, the earlier six-speed automatic transmission has been dropped in favour of a new 10-speed automatic ‘box.
The few updates in the interiors of the 2018 Mustang include ‘MyMode’ - a new function that lets users save their favorite driving setups, a 12-inch LCD digital instrument cluster, and some semi-autonomous features. These include a lane keeping aid with alert, a driver alert system, and pre-collision assist with pedestrian detection. We shall keep you informed of Ford’s plans to reveal the Euro spec 2018 Mustang.
