An updated version of the Ford EcoSport compact SUV has been spotted on test in Brazil. This is expected to be the next major update for the American automaker’s compact SUV before an all-new model is launched sometime in 2018.
The spy shots show a new instrument cluster and an infotainment system. The former now gets new fonts for the speedo and a colour information display between the dials. We can also see a full colour display for the infotainment system, indicating that the EcoSport may now move to Ford’s SYNC2 media system. External changes include new alloy wheels as well as the head lamp assembly.
The EcoSport was launched in the period 2012-2013 across various markets and has brought decent success for the American automaker. However, in the face of rising competition, the EcoSport has been getting major updates to keep it fresh and competitive. This update for the cabin as well as the external changes may be just the thing to bring in good sales numbers once again.
We in India received an update for the compact SUV earlier this year so we are at least a year away from getting the features visible in the spy shots.
