Recently sources have spotted the Vios sedan from Toyota undergoing road test in the country. The sedan is already on sale in South East Asian markets like Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Philippines. The Indian market is likely to be the latest one to receive it. The upcoming sedan from Toyota is likely to emerge as a strong contender against Honda's hotseller City sedan in India. Pricing aspect has not been revealed by the company for now but it is anticipated to be offered somewhere between Rs. 7.0 to Rs. 10 Lakhs bracket.
Speaking of dynamics, the upcoming Vios sedan is likely to measure 4410 mm in length, 1700 mm in width and height of about 1475 mm. The sedan shall be available in petrol as well as diesel variants wherein the petrol trim shall be powered by 1.5-litre VVT-I engine whereas the diesel trim gets 1.4-litre engine. The diesel version is capable of generating about 88 Ps of power, whereas the diesel version is likely to generate about 107 bhp of power with 141 Nm of torque. The vehicle may be offered in an optional four-speed automatic gearbox alongside the five speed manual transmission. Speaking on the designing aspect the vehicle is likely to sport a similar design as seen in the international trim.
