Talk about performance along-with safety and Skoda's Rapid gets a mention. Czech carmaker Skoda has been known to produce some of the finest engineered machines across the globe. Skoda India has recently fixed the date for new Skoda Rapid launch to be on 25th September. As part of new upgrades the the new Skoda Rapid shall six-speed DSG automatic transmission for its diesel powered variant. Whereas regualr five speed manual transmission shall be used in both petrol and diesel engine versions. Pricing aspect has not yet been spoken about by the company and shall be known on the launch day.
The new Skoda Rapid shall get 1.5 Liter TDI engine that shall has been slightly downsized from its older sibling. The new engine shall generate a fairly impressive power output of about 105 Ps of power with 250 Nm of torque. Whereas, the petrol version shall be continue to be powered by 1.6 litre MPI engine that is also a decent performer n its segment.
Currently in the C segment, only Hyundai's Verna has received an automatic transmission and now with Skoda's Rapid due to be launched with an automatic transmission the competition would be worth a check. Earlier this year, Skoda had launched the limited edition of Skoda Rapid Ultima at a starting price of Rs. 8,33,156 Lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). The vehicle sold well in its segment owing to world class features and uncompromising safety measures.
