The very first adventure motorcycle from Royal Enfield named the 'Royal Enfield Himalayan' is expected to be launched during the upcoming 2016 Auto Expo event in India. The bike has been a hot topic of discussion among motorcycle enthusiasts in the country. This time around, sources have managed to click pictures to Himalayan in its raw form along with a shot of the nw instrument cluster. Post launch, the Himalayan may be offered in tourer and a street focused version.
The upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan may be powered by 410cc engine that may generate about 30bhp of power and about 35Nm of torque. Unlike the regular air cooled format, the bike may be offered with a oil-cooled engine. Sources have also indicated that sometime by 2017, the company may also introduce an ABS version.
In terms of design aspect, the production version of Royal Enfield Himalayan may get luggage panniers and large windscreen on the front. The bike gets upswept exhaust, a petrol tank that seems to borrowed from the Continental GT and all black-theme. The bike shall get a new instrument cluster with digital display and altitude meter. The pricing aspect is not known for now, it is anticipated to be offered under Rs 2.0 Lakh price bracket.
