Maruti Suzuki, a key player in Indian automotive sector delivered the most affordable AMT technology option for the common masses with the Celerio hatchback that was launched earlier this year. This time around, the India's largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki is due to offer its top-selling Alto hatchback with an AMT technology. The company shall usher in the AMT technology only in the upcoming K10 variant.
The newer version of Alto K10 with the AMT technology is likely to be launched in November this year. Alto being an entry level variant from Maruti Suzuki, the hatchback with an AMT transmission is likely to be priced under Rs. 4 Lakhs bracket, thereby making it the lowest priced AMT option in the country. Speaking more about the upcoming K10, R S Kalsi, Sales and Marketing head said, “We saw a healthy demand in case of Celerio where the automatic variant now commands a huge waiting list. The demand is expected to remain strong even in the case of Alto.”
The upcoming Alto K10 trim shall continue to be powered by 1.0-litre 3-cylinder K-Series petrol engine that is capable of generating about 67bhp of power with a peak torque output of about 90 Nm. Apart from 5-speed manual transmission, the new K10 shall also feature 5-Speed automated manual transmission. The dashboard and seating has received fresh upgrades this time around. It is also believed that the new version may get a driver's side airbag.
