      Upcoming Hyundai cars in India in 2015

      After receiving an excellent response for the Elite i20, Grand i10 and Xcent compact sedan, Hyundai India is ready to enter the growing compact SUV and crossover segment. The company will launch two new cars and a couple of facelifts of existing models this year. Here is a list of upcoming Hyundai cars for India in 2015.

      Hyundai ix25- Already available in the Chinese market, the ix25 compact SUV is a global product and rival against the likes of Renault Duster, Ford EcoSport, Nissan Terrano and others. It will go on sale in the country in the third quarter of 2015. The ix25 SUV has already been spotted several times on Indian roads, and it will be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel options. Likely to share its mechanics with Verna sedan, the SUV is expected to get a 1.4-litre CRDi diesel and a 1.4-litre Kappa petrol engines. With heavy local components, the ix25 is likely to be priced competitively in the market.

      Hyundai Elite i20 Crossover- Buoyed by an overwhelming response for the Elite i20, Hyundai India is aiming to capitalize on the growing popularity of this hatchback. The company is readying a crossover based on the Elite i20, which is likely to go on sale in the first half of this year. The crossover will get some additional features such as body cladding, roof rails, slightly modified front fascia, etc to offer sporty touch. It will share its engine mechanics with its hatchback sibling.

      Hyundai Verna and Elantra facelift- Hyundai India will also launch the facelifts of the Verna and Elantra sedans in the country. The Verna sedan is facing stiff competition from the likes of City sedan and Ciaz, and to add some fresh appeal the company is aiming to offer a facelifted model. On the other hand, the current generation Elantra is now four years old and the company is planning to give a mild makeover to sedan before introducing the next generation model in 2016-17.
