      TVS RTR 180 cc and 250 cc to be launched by 2014-end and January 2015, respectively

      TVS, the Indian auto maker, has been much appreciated for its Apache model since its launch in the bike market. The bike proved out to be a perfect blend of performance oriented engine and superb handling dynamics. Numerous auto aficionados have adorned this model owing to its awe-inspiring features. However, the segment ruler Bajaj Pulsar and other new entrants have posed a stiff competition against the Apache Owing to this, the auto maker is planning to introduce a new version of the RTR 180 by the end of 2014 to counter the attack. Along with, sources close to the development process have hinted that the Apache 250 is also going to be launched in January 2015.

      According to reports, TVS is planning to launch a new model in every 3 months, which is anticipated to provide it a decent share of bike market. The reworked RTR 180 is expected to receive Honda’s cutting edge combi-brake system and advanced Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). Sources hinted that the same technologies are also expected to be seen in the 250 cc model.

      The tires of new bike are expected to be sourced from Michelin to provide a better stability to the bike. Also, both the upcoming models, Apache 180 cc and Apache 250 cc, will get a superior version of balancers, which will reduce the vibration levels. It has also been said that the new models will also share a number of components from the existing models like front mudguard, indicators, foot-pegs and rear disc brakes. With all these features and advanced technologies, experts are of a view that the Apache RTR 180 will be offered in a price bracket of Rs. 1.3 lakhs and Rs. 1.4 lakhs, however nothing is confirmed as of now.
