One of India’s biggest two-wheeler manufacturers, TVS Motors, is refreshing its plans for the Indian market. With a mission to sell nearly 15,000 units of its models across India every month, TVS has launched its first metal bodied scooter and expects it to generate volumes once it completes its all India roll out. TVS Wego's 110 cc engine delivers 8 BHP @ 7500 rpm. TVS already sells Scooty Teenz, Scooty Pep and Scooty Streak in India.

On the other hand, the company has denied any plans to buy LML brand of geared scooters in India. "TVS Motor Company hereby clarifies that as on date it does not have any plans to buy the assets of LML," a TVS spokesperson said in a statement. The statement further said, "The company is not aware of the source of this incorrect information carried in the said news report."

LML is currently operating under the BIFR scanner and is striving hard to make a comeback in the Indian market. According to experts, if TVS buys LML it will strengthen its position in the high-growth two-wheeler market in India.

TVS already exports to the SAARC region and Africa. It will set up assembly lines in Bangladesh and Columbia over the next two years. It is also looking at Asia, Africa for three-wheeler exports.
