In a bid to further improve its market share in the highly-competitive two-wheeler segment, TVS Motors is aiming to launch several new products in 2015.The company seems to be betting big on scooters, which has been its strength so far, and is readying a series of new models for the market. At the 2014 Delhi Motor Show, the company showcased the Dazz & Rockz scooters. Now, the two-wheeler maker has imported a couple of scooters for R&D (Research & Development) purpose.
TVS is testing the feasibility of these three scooters - Rockz Neo XR and Dazz CW - out of which the Rockz and Dazz had been showcased at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo. The TVS Rockz is propelled by a 125cc motor that churns out a maximum power output of 9.8bhp and a peak torque of 9.8Nm. This engine is coupled to a constant mesh 4-speed gearbox.
The TVS Neo XR is powered by an 110cc motor that produces 8.5bhp of power and 8.5Nm of torque, and is clubbed to a semi-mesh 4-speed gearbox. The Dazz also features the same 110cc motor, but offers slightly less power output. It develops 8.3bhp of power and 8.3Nm of torque, and is mated to a CVT gearbox.
Interestingly, all three scooters were specifically developed for the Indonesian market; but since India is sort of a similar market, the company made up its mind to launch it here as well.
