TVS Motor Company, India's fourth largest two-wheeler maker, seems set to climb the ladder of success as the company is planning to launch its new 125 cc bike, Phoenix, in the Indian auto industry. The fact is evident from the test mules of the model being spotted in several parts of the country. With the launch of a new model for the daily commuters, the company anticipates to turn the tides in its favour and soon emerge as a leader in the two-wheeler bike segment.

Phoenix was earlier showcased at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo, in January this year and was able to pull the masses across its stand. Initially the bike was exhibited at the 'TVS Storm Ahead' event, organised in Bangkok and it is expected that TVS India will pull off the curtains from its new model somewhere in October-November this year.

Coming back to the auto maker's upcoming model, Phoenix will feature appealing style and sober looks, complemented with all-black engine crankshafts and suspensions. As a part of standard accessory, the company has planned to offer engine-kill button, hazard warning facility and six-spoke alloy wheels that will add to the overall appearance of bike. Advancements like LED pilot lamps, crystal clear headlights, electric start, digital instrument cluster, aircraft inspired decals and disc brake in front are expected to be equipped within the yet-to-be launched bike.

Considering the technical specifications of Phoenix, the bike is anticipated to hold a four-stroke single-cylinder, air-cooled powertrain, which will have a displacement of 124.8 cc. It is believed that the maximum power belted out by this engine will stand around 10 bhp with a peak torque of 10 Nm. In order to enhance the performance of Phoenix, the company has mated it to a four speed manual transmission system, which is expected to feature smooth and easy switch between the gears. Keeping in mind the abovementioned figures, industry experts speculate that the new offering from the stables of TVS will maintain a perfect balance between the overall performance and fuel economy.

Sharing its designing language with TVS Star City, industry experts also believe that it may happen that the company powers the same 125 cc engine in Phoenix, which is already incorporated within the Flame SR125. All these advancements within an speculated price of Rs. 55,000 can be termed as a dream come true for several bike enthusiasts who are waiting for a performance oriented commuter from a long time.
