      Triumph launches Thunderbird LT in India at Rs 15.75 lakh

      Triumph has rolled out the classic cruiser Thunderbird Light Tourer (LT) bike in India priced at Rs 15.75 lakh. This is the third cruiser in Triumph’s India range. The new motorcycle will be pitted against the likes of Harley-Davidson Fat Boy and Suzuki M1800R. Based on the original Thunderbird cruiser, the bike is equipped with an array of comfort features for an enhanced touring experience. Ample chrome garnishing, leather saddle bags, white walled radial tires, a three piece head lamp, wire-spoked wheels and a boastful tall windshield render a conventional semblance to the vehicle. A low seat height that measures 700mm makes sure that riders of all size can adjust well on it. Adding to the comfort quotient of Thunderbird LT are features like snug seats, passenger backrest and the floorboards. Company has fitted a large fuel tank with a capacity of 21.9 litre and the vehicle also gets a 2x1x2 exhaust system.

      Built around a tubular steel and twin spine frame, the vehicle gets power from the world’s largest production parallel twin engine. This is the same engine that does duty in Thunderbird Storm. The fuel-injected, liquid-cooled powertrain has a displacement of 1699cc and is capable of pumping out maximum power output of 94 Bhp along with top torque of 151 Nm. A six-speed gearbox works in sync with the athletic engine.

      Triumph has rolled out Thunderbird LT in two tone colour scheme that comprise of Caspian blue/crystal white and lava red/phantom black. Ever since its foray in Indian market, the British marquee has inaugurated eight showrooms in the country. Work in going on in full swing in Kolkata where the company will soon inaugurate its ninth dealership. In a short time of eight months, the company has delivered as many as 600 motorcycles in India.
