In a peculiar turn of events, British bike maker Triumph has altered the specifications of the motorcycles on sale in the India market. As per the official website of Triumph Motorcycle India, the figures showing power and torque figures are reduced now. Experts, initially, believed that the figures were reduced to improve fuel efficiency of the bikes. However, the figures of fuel consumption remained the same on website.

Several sources believe and have reported that the iconic British firm was selling detuned motorcycles from the beginning. Terms and conditions of selling bikes have already been communicated by the firm on the website. "Triumph Motorcycles Limited reserves the right without prior notice to discontinue models, parts, accessories, clothing and other items or change specifications at any time without incurring any obligations." However, this is a serious matter and experts have said that Triumph will have to clarify its stand officially and give a genuine reason justifying the premise.

The 12 motorcycles offered in India by Triumph include Bonneville/T100, Thruxton, Speed Triple ABS, Street Triple ABS, Daytona 675/675 R, Tiger 800 XC/Explorer XC, Thunderbird Storm/LT and Rocket III Roadster.
