      Tractors sales of Mahindra stood at 16,049 units in domestic market for April 2012

      The Farm Equipment Sector (FES) of Mahindra & Mahindra announced on 2nd May 2012 that the company registered sales of 16,049 units in the domestic market for the month of April 2012. In the corresponding period of 2011, Mahindra recorded sales of 17,740 units, which were comparatively more than this year’s record. Mahindra is a division of USD 14.4 billion Mahindra Group and is currently known as the largest Utility Vehicle (UV) manufacturer in India. With decent sales, the company maintained its dominating niche in the tractor industry of the Indian automobile sector.

      The cumulative tractor sales, including exports and local sales, for the month of April 2012 were reported at 16,797 units, against 18,530 units for the same tenure in 2011. The total exports of Mahindra in April 2012 were recorded at 748 units. However, the company also owned a majority stake in Korean auto manufacturer SsangYong Motor Company in 2011.
