Toyota has been working on developing a new sedan for the Indian market named Vios. The sedan has been a popular seller in most of the international markets and would indeed be a new offering in the domestic market. In India, it is likely to be positioned between between the Corolla Altis and Etios range in the country. Post launch, the vehicle is likely to emerge as a strong contender against vehicles like Honda City, Hyundai Verna, VW Vento, Skoda Rapid, Nissan Sunny and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
The upcoming Vios sedan from Toyota is likely to be offered in two engine variants namely 1.4-litre D4-D diesel and a 1.5-litre VVT-I petrol engine. The petrol trim is capable of producing a power output of about 107 bhp of power with 141 Nm of torque. The diesel trim is capable of generating about 88 PS of power. The vehicle is likely to receive a five speed manual gearbox as a standard whereas those looking for automatic transmission cars, can opt for optional four-speed automatic gearbox. Speaking of dimensions, it is likely to feature length of about 4410mm, 1700mm in width, 1475mm tall and a wheel base of about 2550 mm. More details shall be known at the time of official launch being announced by the company.
