Indian commercial vehicles market may be experience a slump in sales but that does not keep companies from launching their new vehicles in India. After Volvo, Tata Motors and MAN, now Toyota is ready to launch its premium range of trucks in India. Hino Motors, part of Toyota Group, will import chassis and cabins from its units in Thailand and shall set up a manufacturing unit after gaining considerable sales in the Indian market.
Initially, Toyota Motors India shall lend its sales and distribution network to Hino Motors for marketing of its trucks in India. However, later Hino Motors will have its own independent sales network in association with Marubeni, the Japanese trading giant.
“There is demand for higher technology, premiumly-positioned trucks, and we see the market picking up,” said the Hino official.
