The new Toyota Rush has earned a five-star safety rating in the tests conducted by the ASEAN NCAP. The seven-seater SUV bound for the South East Asian markets has scored a total of 84.03 out of 100 owing to good performance in areas such as - adult occupancy protection, child occupancy protection and in safety assist systems.

The new Toyota Rush gets standard safety equipment such as six airbags, ABS with EBD, stability control, traction control and hill-start assist. Under the hood, the Rush is powered by a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 104bhp of power and 140Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission and an optional four-speed automatic gearbox.

Toyota and Suzuki had recently announced their cross-badging agreement, where Toyota will supply the Corolla sedan to Maruti Suzuki and the latter will supply the Baleno and the Vitara Brezza to Toyota. The rebadged cars will be introduced on Indian roads sometime by mid-2019.
