Toyota has expanded the lineup of the Rumion with the introduction of a new entry-level E variant. The addition is aimed at improving accessibility for buyers looking for a more affordable three-row MPV from the brand.

The newly introduced base variant sits below the existing S trim and is priced at Rs. 9.55 lakh, ex-showroom. With this addition, Toyota is attempting to broaden the appeal of the MPV in the highly competitive people mover segment.

In terms of powertrain, the Rumion continues to be powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces 102bhp and 137Nm of torque. Transmission options include a five-speed manual and a six-speed automatic gearbox. The MPV is also available with a CNG option paired with the manual transmission.

Feature highlights across the Rumion range include a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, cruise control, and steering-mounted controls.

The Rumion is based on the same platform as the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and competes with other three-row MPVs such as the Kia Carens in the Indian market. Prices for the Rumion lineup currently start at around Rs. 10.29 lakh, ex-showroom.
