      Etios facelift

The Toyota Etios facelift and Liva facelift have been revealed in Brazil hinting at the changes the India-spec model might also get. Both the sedan and the hatchback get updates to the exterior and interior, setting it apart from the current model.
Called as the Toyota Etios Platinum in Brazil, this is just the second update for the cars since 2010. While the headlamps remain the same, the fascia has gone under the knife. For example, the grille is new and now comes with chrome accents and a black honeycomb mesh. The bumpers have been reworked with black inserts and look sportier than the previous ones. The cars now ride on blackened alloy wheels and sport side body skirts. These are expected to be seen on the top-end version with a spoiler and re-profiled bumper at the back.

The latest iteration of the cars get an updated interior. The Brazilian variant sports a steering wheel from the Corolla, a new instrument panel, updated centre console and a new infotainment system. The Indian Etios will also adopt these changes, of course, with a different colour theme to suit the tastes of Indian buyers.
The Toyota Etios facelift and Liva facelift for the Indian market will continue to be powered by the existing petrol and diesel powertrains. The 1.5-litre petrol model churns out 90bhp of power and the diesel 1.4-litre unit produces 68bhp of power. The five-speed manual gearbox from the current car might also be carried over.
The facelifted sedan has been spotted on test in India several times in a disguised avatar. The camouflaged front and rear end hint that the upcoming car might be similar to the Brazilian version in terms of design. We can expect Toyota to launch the updated cars in the festive season this year.
