Lexus, one of the most popular luxury cars in the world market, will soon be marking its debut in the Indian market. The Japanese auto giant Toyota plans to launch the Lexus series of luxury cars in the country, in a bid to make the most of the ongoing high growth momentum in country’s luxury car segment.
According to a recent statement given by Hiroshi Nakagawa, MD of Toyota Kirloskar Motors, the company is eyeing to expand its foot prints in the Indian market with a series of new initiatives. He said that Toyota is currently studying and now deeply considering bringing Lexus to India.
The leading luxury car makers in the Indian market including BMW, Mercedes Benz and Audi have been registering high sales growth since last one year. Moreover, Tata owned Jaguar & Land Rover is also witnessing a sharp rise in the profits in the country.
According to Sandeep Singh, deputy MD (sales & marketing) at TKM, "India is a key focus market for Toyota and we are looking at ways to increase our footprint as well as product offerings." The company is also keen to launch its financial arm in the Indian market.
