Toyota launches Innova Touring Sport at Rs 17.79 lakh

After much wait, Toyota has finally launched the new Innova Touring Sport in India at Rs 17.79 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Offered as a top-spec variant, the new trim gets all the features from the regular Crysta ZX variant. The new variant is based on Toyota Venturer, a popular seller in Indonesia. However, mechanically it continues to be powered by existing engine options, while any changes made are limited to visual upgrades.

To distinguish it from a regular version, Toyota has added sporty body cladding on the wheel arches, bumpers as well as the side skirts. As seen in the Venturer, the new Crysta touring Sport from Toyota also gets a chrome element on the ORVMs as well the grille which is flanked by smoked headlamps. Although the sides appear to be similar to the existing model, for freshness, it now sits on 205/65 R16 tyres wrapped around blackened alloys that give it a sportier stance.

Regarding the interiors, the new Innova Crysta Touring Sport gets premium leather upholstery along with a touchscreen infotainment system and a TFT multi-information display. In addition to few sporty bits, the new variant also gets a unique Touring Sport badge and embossed floor mats. Mechanically, it continues to be offered in petrol as well as a diesel derivative. The petrol version gets a 2.7-litre engine which puts out 164bhp of power and 245Nm of torque while the diesel automatic is powered by a 2.8-litre engine producing 172bhp of power and 360Nm of torque. Finally, the diesel manual variant is powered by a 2.4-litre unit producing 148bhp/343Nm and this is mated to a five-speed manual.

Toyota’s latest upgrade to its popular selling product will further widen options for customers who have always been longing for more features from the Japanese automaker. Moreover, the new model is expected to further boost overall sales for the market leader in its segment in India.
