      Toyota Land Cruiser Prado introduced in India at Rs. 84.8 lakh

      Popular car maker, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, has launched yet another model in the form of new Land Cruiser Prado. The car is renowned world over for its off-roading capabilities gets several important features and updates. Priced at Rs. 8487000 (Ex-showroom New Delhi), the new Land Cruiser Prado inherits the luxury Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) heritage of the company for which the series is known globally.

      Lending a comment for Land Cruiser Prado, Sandeep Singh, Chief Operating Officer at Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said, “Ever since Prado’s launch in India in 2004, customer response to the Prado's legendary quality, durability and reliability has been very good and we would like to thank our customers for this appreciation. Owing to its Land Cruiser heritage, the Prado has earned its name as an all terrain luxury SUV and appeals not only to SUV buyers but also to buyers of other luxury car segments alike. A perfect combination of manoeuvrability and interior luxury, we are certain that the Indian customers will experience superior comfort and luxury while driving the new Prado”.

      In the new version of Prado, the company has made several changes in interiors and exteriors. The car now incorporates new features that are aimed at offering a comfortable and luxurious experience to passengers. To be specific, in the exteriors of Land Cruiser Prado, Toyota has given a restyled front grille and restructured font bumper. Furthermore, the car gets new fog lamps, license plate garnish and LED headlamps with daytime running lamps.

      The major changes can be seen in the interior of Prado as it now boasts of a Crawl Control

      System. The usage of accelerator and brake gets minimised while driving on slippery surfaces or rough terrains, thereby enabling the driver to concentrate on the road ahead. As Prado is a full-fledged SUV that can tread through different road conditions, the company given away a Multi-Terrain Select in which one can easily switch from different modes, namely Rock; Rock and Dirt; Mogul; Loose Rock; and Mud & Sand. Also to navigate easily through the roads, a Multi-Terrain Monitor is provided that gives a clear view of the surroundings. Other features include audio display system with 7 inch screen, second row seat heater and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.

      The new version of Prado is available in five different colours, namely White Pearl Crystal Shine, Silver Metallic, Grey Metallic, Dark Blue Metallic and Black. Also to mention, Toyota has offered two interior colours options that include Flaxen and Black to give an extra option for buyers in choosing from dark and light colour interior shades depending on the exterior colour of the car. With the launch, the official booking procedure has already started.

      In terms of engine, Land Cruiser Prado essentially remains the same with 2982 cc 16 valve DOHC four-cylinder common rail turbodiesel unit. However, a slight change in the engine of Prado can be seen in the emission aspect as the company has upgraded the same to in the Euro 5+ compliant. The peak power produced by the 3.0-litre unit gives away190 bhp of power alongside the 420 Nm of torque. In terms of transmission, the engine comes mated to a five-speed automatic gearbox.
