Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Limited (TKMPL), the Indo-Japanese Joint Venture (JV) between Toyota Motor Corporation and the Kirloskar Group, commenced the second Exhibition Race of the Etios Motor Racing (EMR) championship on October 6, 2012 at HUDA Leisure Valley in Gurgaon. The two day event will be continued till October 7, 2012.
The EMR or the internationally acclaimed 'Race of Champions' marked its debut in the country in August 2012 and the Indian motorsport enthusiasts relished the opportunity and came in great numbers for the unique and thrill filled event. The second round is also expected to become a crowd puller with many hundreds of spectators slated to attend the two fun filled days of adventure motorsport.
TKMPL aspires to add a new dimension to the existing Indian motorsport scene and conducted the first round of the 2012 EMR Exhibition Race at an especially designed circuit in Chennai in August, 2012. Further, the new customised twin racetracks at Leisure Valley, Gurgaon are designed in a way so as to provide the Indian audience a glimpse of how the professional motorsport aficionados of the country compete against each other.
Reportedly, some 25 participants will battle it out for the pole position at the second round of EMR, which will also witness eight rallying and racing exponents of the country tussling against each other. The Indian champions list comprises Akbar Ibrahim, Vicky Chandhok, Vikram Mathias, Naren Kumar, Nikhill Taneja, Farad Bhathena, Navaz Sandhu and V. Ramnarayanan. Further, TKMPL has roped in the popular Video Jockey (VJ) Rannvijay Singh for an interactive session with the Indian motorsport lovers, besides the youth icon will also drive an EMR car.
In order to keep the spectators of EMR event engaged, TKMPL has planned a whole gamut of interesting and captivating activities. There will be special remote controlled racing games, a proper SUV zone along with state-of-the-art racing simulators to keep the local public interested. TKMPL has also collaborated with the Neo Sports Network to bring the EMR event to the living rooms of Indian motorsport enthusiasts who could not attend the special event. Each and every second of the EMR action will be aired on Neo Sports channel on October 7, 2012 from 1 pm till 5 pm in the evening.
