The move to introduce the facelift version of the utility vehicle is backed by the fact that many car companies either have launched or are planning to introduce their respective models in the market soon. The facelift MPV, referred as Multi Premium Vehicle by Toyota, is expected to get noticeable upgrades on both, interiors and exteriors. The styling at front and rear portion of this vehicle seems to have been tweaked to impart a dynamic look. The front fascia is expected to get a front chrome surround grille and body coloured bumpers. Fog lamps with chrome embellishments can also be seen enhancing the overall appearance of this new facelift version. The rear portion seems to undergo lot of changes with reworked bumpers, bigger number plate housing and chrome finish for an premium feel. Having said that, the design aspects of vehicle's tail lamps and bumper appear to be same as the existing Innova 2.5 V running on Indian roads. Interiors are expected to be high on visibility and comfort. The new facelift version is expected to come with a new infotainment package that includes an LCD touchscreen with various connectivity features like USB.

The new facelift Innova is supposed to come with two engine options. The diesel variant is expected to come fitted with a 2.5-litre direct injection oil burner intercooler turbocharger engine, one that delivers power to the existing diesel model. The petrol version might come fitted with a 2.0-litre petrol engine that the current petrol variant utilises. The 4-cylinder 16-valve DOHC, D-4D engine will offer a peak output of 136 bhp with torque output of up to 183 Nm.

Incidentally, this utility vehicle was recently launched in Indonesia recently and once it is introduced in the Indian automobile market, the battle between popular MUVs will be spiced-up. Notably, the Indian market is quite hot in terms of competition between utility vehicles. Customers and car enthusiasts are favouring utility vehicles for want of more space and power. Auto companies realise this and consequently strive to make their respective utility models a success over its peers. Industry experts are of a view that the new facelift version of Innova will compete with likes of Tata Safari Storm and Mahindra XUV500.

As per the available information, the new facelift version will come in several variants. The expected price range of this vehicle, due to new add-ons, will be higher than the currently available Innova model. Notably, Toyota Innova has cruised along nicely since its inception in the country. It is very popular among customers and car enthusiasts as it offers a good overall performance with decent fuel efficiency.
