Toyota’s Innova has been a leading player in its segment. At the 2016 Auto Expo event that concluded earlier this year, the Japanese automaker had unveiled the latest model. Rechristened as Innova Crysta, the vehicle is due for launch in the first week of May, 2016. The new model comes with a new engine, improved style and more features.

The older Innova came with a 2.5-litre diesel engine that generates 100bhp of power. While, the New Innova Crysta gets a 2.4-litre diesel engine that generates close to 150bhp of power. The engine will come mated to a five-speed manual and optional six-speed automatic transmission. The company will also introduce a petrol engine option that will tackle the over 2,000cc diesel engine ban in Delhi. It is to be seen if the petrol engine will be manufactured in India.

In terms of features, the Toyota Innova Crysta will get a redesigned dashboard, improved seat fabrics, AC vents for both rows, touchscreen infotainment system, keyless entry, steering mounted controls and LED headlamps. On the exterior, the Innova Crysta comes with new angular grille, new redesigned alloys and sweptback double barrel headlights with LEDs. The third-row seat also gets a new window design. To complete the new cosmetic upgrade, the new Innova Crysta gets an eye-catchy horizontally stacked taillight assembly. On the pricing aspect, we expect that the new Innova Crysta will be priced higher than the current generation.
