Toyota Kirloskar Motors has reported a 10 per cent domestic sales growth in December 2018. The company has ended the year on a high note with a total sale of 11,830 units in the domestic market in December 2018 as against 10,793 units in the same period last year. Additionally, Toyota Kirloskar Motors has reported a nine per cent growth in domestic sales from January – December 2018.

The Japanese car manufacturer has also achieved the milestone of the highest ever IMV Sales (Innova + Fortuner) in 2018 in India. Toyota Etios Series exports have however witnessed a drop with 653 units as against 812 units in the same period last year. Speaking on the occasion, N. Raja, Deputy Managing Director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said, “We are happy to close the year end with a series of positive milestones despite the dampening effect on consumer sentiment owing to hike in fuel prices, higher interest rates, increase in insurance premium.”

The Innova Crysta has been a strong selling product for Toyota since its debut in 2016. The company claims that the Innova Crysta MPV has witnessed record growth in sales throughout the year. Apart from this, Toyota’s premium SUV, the Fortuner has also been a considerable contributor to the overall sales.
