Toyota dealers across metro cities have exhausted the stocks of the top-end ZX and VX trims of the current generation Innova. The Japanese carmaker has recently stopped production of the MUV, to make way for the launch of the next-generation Innova Crysta.

Only the G and the GX trim of the seven-seater MUV are on sale at the moment, using the same 2.5-litre diesel engine producing 100bhp and 200Nm of torque. These versions, which have limited features and cost lesser than the ZX and VX trim are preferred by the fleet market. The step might be taken as, a majority of the buyers looking for personal use, would defer buying the MUV, waiting for the new model.

The G and GX trim miss out on a few safety features and also equipment like the touch-screen music system, rear parking sensors and camera, climate control, fog lamps, alloy wheels and driver side armrest.

The Innova has now stopped the production of the current Innova, the next-generation Crysta will replace it in the next couple of months. The Crysta is based on a new platform and offers new engine options and features for the MUV.
